The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is IELTS is
managed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council
or IDP: IELTS Australia thus you can either appear through IDP or
British Council depending on the dates available.
IELTS has two versions : Academic test module which is intended for the students who wish to pursue their higher education (undergraduate or post graduate courses) while General Training Test module is for the candidates seeking immigration to an English speaking country. All the applicants take the same Listening and Speaking tests but different Reading and Writing tests.
The test has four components - Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking. You will receive a band score for each component as well as an overall band score.
